Big Mugs and Lots of Bread

After nearly a week of rain, it suddenly got really cold here overnight!

Quite a few of the more tender annuals didn't survive the near freezing temps. Seems like autumn is definitely here. Thank goodness the grocery stores sell flowers!

Ivy decided to warm up on this cold morning with a cup of coffee and some fresh bread.

It would've been the perfect day to try out these mugs if they weren't so huge! I saw them on Pinterest and discovered they're sold at quite a few places, including Walmart, but these came from the online retailer, Houzz. They're so cute it's a shame not to use them, maybe I'll try filling them just half way up. It took awhile to find the right place to display them since their handles are too big for a standard mug hook. They do look good just lined up on a shelf though.

It looks like Kibitz wouldn't mind joining Ivy in tasting the latest loaf of bread. Or does he just want to supervise how it's sliced? HM started making bread for toast about three years ago but lately he has been experimenting with different recipes and kinds of flour. This is Swedish Breakfast Rye with currents.

Burt has decided to try his hand at bread making, too. I understand it's become quite a popular hobby during the pandemic. If the lack of flour at the supermarket is any indication, everybody's doing it!

So, what's the verdict Kibitz? Does it need to rise a little longer?

Burt thinks another half an hour can't hurt.

Voila! Whole Wheat Oatmeal Bread.

Good job guys, keep up the delicious work. Looks like it's not just for breakfast anymore, ha!

Thanks for stopping by, see you tomorrow!
