Are We What We Read?

What better way is there to spend a rainy day than indulging in one of your favorite passions? Burt and Ivy spent the day reading about Ancient Egypt and planning a fantasy vacation.

Burt and Ivy love everything about ancient Egypt. They even plant papyrus every year. Spenser also loves papyrus but probably not for the same reasons they do.

Since all their vacation plans were canceled this year, they have been thinking about splurging on a cruise up the Nile - when it's safe to travel, of course. Then again, they can't actually catch anything.

Burt enjoys studying the philosophical, religious and spiritual thoughts of the Ancient Egyptians.

Ivy is learning to read hieroglyphics.

They can't wait for new episodes of the Vintage Egyptologist on YouTube.

Oscar Wilde said: "You are what you read." (Obviously there were no blogs in his day.) It does look like they have their costumes all figured out for this year though!

Then there's Kibitz. He likes chowing down on M&Ms (preferably the Ghouls Mix, the bag with the Peanut in a mummy costume) while binge watching The Mummy and The Mummy Returns.
I guess there are many ways to appreciate ancient cultures.

Thanks for stopping by, see you tomorrow!
