Ivy and Burt are spending the day arranging flowers.
Lately the flowers at the Farmers Market have included lots of varieties that are suitable for drying, like strawflowers and globe amaranth. I was surprised at the amount of these so-called everlastings that were included among the usual dahlias, ornamental cabbages and sunflowers.
The most recent bouquet was so huge it had to be divided into two normal sized ones and this swag. The white statice and pink globe amaranth aren't exactly autumnal colors but that's okay.
The dahlias were orange though, ha!
So Ivy's been looking forward to putting together an arrangement with some of the hydrangea and roses she dried over the summer.
A generous application of hairspray helps the hydrangeas hold onto their petals longer.
Burt decided he should be responsible for that task since he has so much hair and all.
He's also wondering how long this is all going to take.
Luckily, it all went surprisingly quick.
It was all done in about half an hour.
Well, that was easy. It looks like Ivy needs to get more flowers to dry!
Thanks for stopping by, see you tomorrow!
