It's hard to believe we're half way though October already!
The worst part of our porch renovation is over but there's still some painting and small repairs to do. Meanwhile the mums have to wait at the bottom of the steps. Kibitz tested out the new cap stones to see if they're up to the task of supporting the jack-'o-lanterns.
The Farmers Market was canceled last Saturday because the weather forecasters had predicted high winds and torrential rain. None of that happened so we went to the grocery store instead and found these orange roses. They're not dahlias but they will do.
So far this fall, we haven't had the time to get out into the countryside and enjoy the autumn leaves. Hopefully that will happen soon but this view from the parking lot at the Piggly Wiggly wasn't too bad.
Here's Burt's haul from Saturday. I still think we need a couple more big ones.
This is the only pumpkin we got from our garden this year. It has two weeks to turn orange.
What are the chances of that happening?
Finally, Spenser would like everyone to understand that the neutral colors of fall are just as important as the bright ones. Being colorblind, he mostly sees things in shades of gray anyway, like ghosts and occasionally a mouse or two.
Thanks for stopping by, see you tomorrow!
