It's getting closer.
Did you see the eclipse today? The sun was only 40% obscured in our area, not that the clouds didn't do their best to make it 100%.
Like clockwork, as soon as it was all over, the skies began to clear. Maybe next time.
No matter what the universe was up to, it's still the spooky season and we need pumpkins. Burt and Kibitz went out in search of some quality specimens that were large enough to turn into jack-'o-lanterns.
Our local, go-to place for carving pumpkins had a pretty good selection.
As for the other fall faves like gourds, corn stalks and mums, they were pretty scarce. Either it was a bad growing year or we showed up too late to the party. Possibly both.
In the end, Burt was very happy with his haul.
Kibitz was pleased too, although he thinks we could use more of everything.
Is there a trip to a pumpkin patch in their future?
