Some Halloween Kitsch for the Kitchen

Today Burt and Ivy decided it was time to spruce up the kitchen for Halloween.

They started with the stove. After all these years, I am still wondering why I thought it was a good idea to buy a stove with a shelf over the cooktop. It looked cool in the showroom but did we really need all that extra stainless steel just to hold the salt and pepper?

Since it really has no practical purpose it got decked out with an array of heatproof, washable objects.
It looks like Minnie has found her dream home!

Speaking of Minnie and Mickey, the mice got replaced with a cat! Since the kitchen is the size of a postage stamp (and destined to remain that way because we don't dare to remodel it) we have a poster that gets changed with the seasons. It looks festive and makes the most of an awkward space.

Unfortunately, changing the posters can be a rather irksome task!
Did the tape get the best of Burt or was Ivy just tired of listening to him complain?

With the those two areas of the kitchen decorated, it was time to clean up.

Burt found the perfect towel for Ivy,

she got him a new drying mat,

and now it's time for a cup of tea.

Thanks for stopping by!
