Dining & Lighting

It's the eighteenth day of October! If you're a crazy person who loves Halloween, all the days of October are important. Voting is also important, way more than Halloween. If you're eighteen years old or older, a woman and you haven't registered to vote, you should do it now. Through the self-serving actions of asshole politicians, women have lost important rights and the only way we can get them back is by voting those people out of office. Your vote matters. Now, back to spooky silliness.

Since the temperatures have taken a nose dive lately, we now have too many tomatoes and they need to be used up soon. So His Madness has been making loads of tomato sauce and tonight he was serving it on spaghetti.

Along with the pasta there was an arugula salad (just to piss off the previously mentioned politicians but it was also rescued from freezing) and bread. We've been having this meal ever since we were in college. It's way better now, back then the cheese and sauce came in cans, the bread was spongy and we didn't know what arugula was. You would think that after all this time we could change up this menu . . .

or not.

Apart from all the nostalgia over spaghetti sauce, Burt decided to enhance our dining experience with some seasonal illumination. He's always looking for an excuse to put a light bulb in his mouth.

Earlier this week I accidentally bought two different kinds of twinkle lights. I didn't think it would matter much but somehow they don't look anything alike. Oops.

Fortunately, once they went up, you couldn't tell the difference.

Ivy took another approach to the situation. She went over the top adding as many different types of lights as she could find around the house. Guess she didn't discover the lava lamp in the cupboard with the green containers of grated Parmesan cheese and the canned tomatoes. That was close.

Thanks for stopping by, see you later today!
