October is cruising right along!
Ivy was shopping for Trick or Treat candy at Target yesterday and found this cute little waffle maker. She was a little skeptical about how well it would work, given it's exceptionally low price. However, since it was so inexpensive, she decided it was worth a try. There were three designs available, a pumpkin, a spider web and a skull, which she naturally chose.
It's very small, about a quarter of the size of a regular waffle maker and actually fits in her hand!
It's also lightweight plastic and gets very, very hot.
Following the basic recipe included, she ended up with about a dozen waffles.
Much to her amazement, it actually worked really well!
His Madness couldn't wait to dig in. We were also pretty happy about the weather turning nice for the weekend. It was so warm we decided to have brunch on the patio. What a change from last Monday when it snowed and we thought fall was over in our neck of the woods!
As for the waffles, they were pretty good and actually turned out looking like the picture on the box!
Can you see the resemblance?
The waffle experiment was fun and tasty too, but how did I end up with the poisoned cup when Burt was the one eating with his hands?
Ivy's impulse buy turned out to be a success, but we won't know for sure until she tries it again, ha! She was considering buying another one so she could make more than one waffle at a time, but having two on would probably trip the circuit breakers. It looks like the waffles will be a continuing story.
Thanks for stopping by, see you tomorrow!
