Trendy?

A couple of days ago I ran into an article titled Halloween trends for 2022: 8 spooky-chic decor ideas worth trying this year. It was on a site called Real Homes. Most of my decor is already up but I couldn't resist seeing if I'd accidentally followed any of their ideas for "trendy twists on traditional decorations."

1. Wall of Bats
It's not an entire wall of bats. It was inspired by a mirror display at Kirklands. Last year I bought a huge package of bats and added them all over the walls of the basement stairway. They drove me crazy.

2. Floating Halloween Decorations
Nope. The ceilings (and walls) of our 1929 house are lath and plaster, we live in fear of cracks. Someday, when I remember where I put all the materials for the diy Hogwarts floating candles, our patio will be illuminated like the Great Hall.

3. Creatively Crafted Pumpkins
These little candles were handmade with beeswax and scented with pumpkin pie spice. They smell so good I can't imagine burning them. The Real Homes article actually suggested painting regular pumpkins or buying velvet ones. How edgy was that - a couple of decades ago.

4. Friendly Ghosts
Okay, they got this one right. Ghosts are big this year, ha!

Not exactly 12' Skeleton big but larger than a figurine.

Tasty, too.

5. Oversized Spiders and Webs
They probably didn't mean the real kind.

6. Monochrome Vignettes.
"Rather than opting for stark and saturated shades, monochrome collections that err on the side of pastel or neutral are seeing an uptick."
Where?

7. Halloween Wreaths.
Seriously? How is this a trend? Have these people been living under a rock?

8. Witchy Word Boards.
Don't own one, not a big fan of signage but I found this in a drawer and couldn't resist.

It was a pretty funny article but they probably didn't mean it that way, ha! It's a great example of not taking anything you read online too seriously, even about Halloween decorating! Trends are fine, the good thing is that they come and go, so there's always something new to look forward to.

Thanks for stopping by, see you tomorrow!
