A Mad Spooky Pie

Yesterday it was warm and humid then today it was cold and rainy. Now that it finally feels like fall, I've been having a few of those "be careful what you wish for" moments.

Ivy was in the mood for dessert so she got some apples and asked His Madness to make a pie.

He was happy to oblige and got right to work on the dough for the crust. Burt and Ivy put on aprons so it would look like they wanted to help. Kibitz stayed so he could point out any mistakes.

It's funny how they disappeared when he got to the tedious step of peeling and chopping.

It didn't take too long to mix the ingredients together.

According to HM, the secret to a flaky crust is to refrigerate the dough before rolling it out.

Then cheerfully pat it into the pan.

Use any leftovers to make a spooky decoration.

Then add a few pats of butter and it's ready for the oven.

We're lucky to have a pie maker in the house even if he does act pretty crazy most of the time.

Thanks for stopping by, see you tomorrow!
