Decorating the Dining Room

Every year I plan on getting all my Halloween decorations out of storage and ready to go up as soon as Labor Day is over but that only happened once and it was quite awhile ago. Admittedly, there was a lot less back then, ha! Tonight the Crew decided to put up the decorations in the dining room.

Burt was in charge of the lights and garland.

He did a great job . . . with coaching from the sidelines.

Ivy set up the Haunted Village on the piano.

Since summer has extended itself into fall, our living and dining rooms haven't seen much use lately. The top of the piano is one of the few kitty-proof places in our house so it ends up as a catch all for the more fragile decor pieces. Sometimes, with a little rearranging, it can almost look intentional.

Most often, the Dept. 56 houses occupy the piano for safety's sake.

We don't have many candlelit dinners in the summertime but that could change any day now. Ivy found these new candles that are definitely more creepy than the regular ones.

Burt's impressed!

She also found just the right decanter to go with them. Wonder what will she will come up with next?

The Skeleton Crew are looking pretty pleased with the dining room make-over but they're not done yet. Quite a few places around the house are still in need of spookiness!

Thanks for stopping by, see you tomorrow!
