National Cat Day

According to the internet it's National Cat Day! That probably means that Spenser and Stewart will be even less cooperative than normal. Although, I suppose I wouldn't be too thrilled if someone woke me up by sticking a wooden countdown calendar in my face either.

Stewart is always skeptical of what he reads on the internet. However, he's always willing to go along with any holiday that includes cat treats.

Tasty Human, huh? Are they made from real human beings?
Let's hope it's not going to one of those Halloweens!

Like most kitties, Stewart and Spenser don't care much about holidays but Halloween makes them very upset, almost as much as the Fourth of July.  Although everyday must be kind of a holiday when you spend most of your time eating, sleeping and knocking things onto the floor. Weren't there pumpkins on that table?

Apparently they were keeping Stewart awake. He was probably right, it was pretty cluttered.

Occasionally, they catnap in some pretty silly positions. Here is Spenser snoozing in his duck decoy position. Where do you suppose his tail is?

Kitty life isn't just about treats, naps and laser pointers.

There's video games, too.

You would think that they would be really good at this fishing game considering how much time they spend playing it. Maybe, because it was a free download and they're playing it on a ten year old iPad they can't do any better. They're probably going to want an upgrade soon.

Oh well, you can't win them all. Maybe if they cut back on the nap time they could get in some practice and improve those scores? Just a thought. Happy Cat Day guys, hope you had a great time!

Obviously, National Cat Day isn't really a holiday for pampered pets but to raise awareness of the need for  people to visit their local shelters and adopt a cat, or two. We found Stewart and Spenser at our Humane Society. Originally, we were only planning on adopting one cat but they were having a "buy one, get one free" type promotion and that worked out perfectly for all of us.

Happy Cat Day to all the kitties and humans out there!
Thanks for stopping by, see you tomorrow.

  1. I got the Holiday Cat Treats for Eli too, they had the Catnip Flavor, which was a Seasonal Treat, he wasn't as Impressed with it as I thought he'd be. Your Fur Babies obviously are enjoying National Cat Day, but then again, isn't EVERY DAY Cat Day in their Minds? After all, Dogs have Owners but Cats have Staff.
