Counting Pumpkins

Ivy's decided to take advantage of the sunny day and see how many pumpkins are in the garden. Halloween will be here very soon and you can never have too many!

Burt's always happy to search through the overgrown grass and weeds for pumpkins.
It's like a spooky easter egg hunt.

It didn't take long to find these two, but we've been keeping an eye on them all summer.

Kib found a bright orange Jack-Be-Little hiding just outside one of the raised beds.

Then he found a second one right in the middle between the two raised beds.
How did we not step on it?

Looking up, these two had climbed into a tomato cage.
Now that they're finally starting to turn orange, they look less like tomatoes.

They all missed these two, no one thought to look inside the raised beds, ha!
Will the green one turn orange in the next couple of weeks? Is it even a pumpkin?

Much to everyone's surprise, there was only one that has been nibbled at.
The total came to nine little pumpkins . . .

. . .  and one giant wasp nest! Scary and dangerous!
Who knew looking for pumpkins could turn out to be so exciting?

Thanks for stopping by, see you tomorrow!

  1. What a fun post! Having grown only 1 pumpkin over the years, I am at a loss over which growing conditions pumpkins favor.
